Terramark

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 7, 2026 · Applies to the Terramark iOS app and terramarkapp.com

The short version: Terramark has no accounts and no server of its own. Your photos, coordinates, addresses, projects and notes are stored only on your device and are never uploaded by us. The app sends only anonymous usage and crash telemetry, which never includes your content.

1. Data stored on your device

Everything you create in Terramark — photos, waypoints, coordinates, resolved addresses, project names, notes, categories and settings — is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. We do not operate any server that receives, stores or processes this content. Deleting a record in the app, or deleting the app itself, permanently removes the data; there are no copies elsewhere.

2. Address lookup (Apple reverse geocoding)

To show a street address on your photo stamps, the app sends the captured coordinates to Apple's geocoding service (CLGeocoder). This request goes directly from your device to Apple and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. It happens only when your device is online; offline captures are queued and resolved later. We never see these requests.

3. Anonymous analytics and crash reports

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to fix crashes. This telemetry includes things like device model, OS version, app version, anonymous app-instance identifiers, feature usage events and crash stack traces.

It never includes your content: no coordinates, no photos, no addresses, no project or record data of any kind is sent as part of any analytics event or crash report.

This data is processed by Google under the Firebase privacy documentation and Google's privacy policy. It is not used for advertising and is not linked to your identity — the app has no accounts, so we could not link it even if we wanted to.

4. Purchases

Terramark Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). We do not receive your name, email address or any payment details. Purchases can be managed or cancelled in your Apple ID subscription settings.

5. Photos you export or share

Photos taken with Terramark contain GPS location data both in the visible stamp and in the embedded EXIF metadata. When you choose to share, export or send a photo or an export file (KMZ, CSV, GeoJSON, PDF, ZIP), that location data travels with it. Sharing is always initiated by you; the app never shares anything on its own.

6. Permissions

Both permissions can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings; the relevant features simply stop working.

7. Children

Terramark is a professional field tool, is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Material changes (for example, any new category of collected data) will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
